Rules & Regulations

  1. All OMHA Rules & Regulations will be followed for this Jamboree & Tournament. This jamboree & tournament is sanctioned by OMHA. 


  1.  All teams, team officials, and parents/spectators are required to adhere to the OMHA Code of Conduct, WLMH Code of Conduct and the West Elgin Arena Code of Conduct. 


  1. Abusive behaviour (verbally, physically, or causing damage to any property) by any player, team official or spectator will not be tolerated and will result in the immediate ban/suspension from the facility for the remainder of the tournament at the discretion of the tournament committee and/or officials involved. Abusive behaviour may also result in player/coach suspensions. Notification of the incident will also be made by the tournament committee to the home minor hockey association.


  1. No stick handling, ball hockey, or other type of activities are permitted in the hall between the dressing rooms and ice, in the warm room, in the stands, or in any other area not on the ice, per rule of the Municipality of West Elgin.


  1. No spectators are permitted beyond the brick walls at the corner of the rink in the dressing rooms/behind the benches/timekeepers area. 


  1. Divisions for the tournament are U9 Minor Development (Tier 1/2/full ice) U11 Local League, U11 B (Tier 2 teams) and U11 B2 (Tier 3/Additional Entry teams).  Tournament Coordinator reserves the right to review team standings, league standings, and past tournaments to accept/deny team entry.


  1. Registration fees for U9 LL are $550 for one-half ice team. 


  1. Registration fees for U9 MD, U11 LL and U11 B & U11 B2 (Tier 3) are $1,200.00. 


  1. Refunds will not be issued after October 11th, 2025. 


  1. All teams must submit a copy of their sanctioned travel permit and their OMHA approved team roster through the online Team Portal by Friday October 24th. Failure to do so may result in removal from the tournament.


  1. Games will primarily be held at the Bo Horvat Community Centre in West Lorne.  Due to the recent changes to full ice for U9 MD, there may be games held in adjacent arenas for all divisions (Bothwell or Glencoe).


  1. Games will start on time, and run ahead of schedule when possible. Teams are required to be ready at least 15 minutes before scheduled game time. Failure to do so may result in a forfeit of the game. Warm-ups will start two (2) minutes before the game starts. If teams are not present when warm up begins, team will be buzzed with the facility buzzer when ice is ready to go. Team will have two (2) minutes to make their way to the ice and warm up. Teams will be buzzed again at one (1) minute remaining. If after two (2) minutes, the team has not entered the ice, the game will be considered a forfeit in favour of the present team. 


  1. Dressing rooms are shared for U9 LL. Teams will be required to vacate the dressing rooms within 15 minutes of the end of their game. Teams are required to be patient and understand the arena is busy and may need to wait for open dressing rooms. 


  1. U9 Local League team registration will cover one (1) registration for a team of one (1) half of the ice. If a registration wishes to submit enough players to play two (2) half ice games, two registrations will be required to be submitted. For example, if a U9 team has 16 players, and they only register one U9 team, all 16 players will play as one team in the tournament, on one half of the ice. If a team wishes to split, they will be required to register two teams, and can split the team into two (2) teams of 8 players each. The official OMHA roster will need to be provided, as well as the Modified Ice Participant List on game day


  1. U9 LL: All games will be Half-Ice Format, and depending on divisions, pools may be created so teams play only on one (1) day of the tournament. Two-half ice modified games will run simultaneously. U9 LL teams will be required to share the benches with the other team. Games will be two (2) periods of 16 minutes each (run time).  Teams will play two (2) games back to back. Floods will happen after two (2) games.  All U9 LL teams will each play three (3) games.  During these games, officials will watch the games to match teams as evenly as possible for a final fun (fourth) game.  No scores will be kept in accordance with OMHA Jamboree requirements. 


  1. U9 MD - Games will be full ice. Games will be three (3) periods of 10 minutes each (stop time). If the goal differential during the game is more than five (5) goals, run time may be utilized at the discretion of the referee and Tournament Officials.  If the differential becomes less than five (5) goals, the game will return to stop time. No timeouts during games.  Floods will occur after each game. 


  1. U9 MD: All teams guaranteed three (3) games. Tournament format for U9 MD - all teams play each other once.  The top team will get a bye to the final.  Remaining teams will play a semi-final game, with the winner advancing to the final.   


  1. U11 Local League: All teams guaranteed three (3) games.  The winner of each pool will advance to a championship game.  Games will be three (3) periods of 10 minutes each, stop time. If the goal differential during the game is more than five (5) goals, run time may be utilized at the discretion of the referee and Tournament Officials.  If the differential becomes less than five (5) goals, the game will return to stop time. No timeouts during games.  Floods will occur after each game. 


  1. U11 B:  All teams guaranteed three (3) games.  Games will be three (3) periods of 10 minutes each, stop time. If the goal differential during the game is more than five (5) goals, run time may be utilized at the discretion of the referee and Tournament Officials.  If the differential becomes less than five (5) goals, the game will return to stop time. No timeouts during games.  Floods will occur after each game.  Tournament format is all teams play each other once with cross-over games with the B2 teams.  B teams will then compete in a Championship B Final.


  1.  U11 B2 (Tier 2 &Tier 3): All teams guaranteed three (3) games. Games will be three (3) periods of 10 minutes each, stop time. If the goal differential during the game is more than five (5) goals, run time may be utilized at the discretion of the referee and Tournament Officials.  If the differential becomes less than five (5) goals, the game will return to stop time. No timeouts during games.  Floods will occur after each game.  Tournament format is B2 teams will play one B2 team and one cross-over game with a B division team.  Standings will be used to determine seedings for  semi-final games of 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 to determine who will advance to B2 Championship Game.  There will also be a B2 3rd vs 4th Final game.    


  1. U9 MD, U11 LL & U11 B (Tier 2), B2 (Tier 3): For U9 MD, U11 LL and U11 B/B2, 2 points will be awarded for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss. 


  1. Tie Breakers for U9MD/U11 LL/U11 B/U11B2 divisions:

    1. Most Points

    2. Head to Head between tied teams

    3. Most Wins

    4. Goal Differential (goals scored minus goals against)

    5. Most Goals Scored 

    6. Least Goals Against. 

    7. If there is still a tie after all of the above have been exhausted, a coin toss will decide the winner to advance.


  1. U9 MD, U11LL & U11B, B2 Championship: Championship game - one (1) 30 second timeout allowed per team. If tied at the end of regulation time, there will be a 5 minute sudden death Overtime (OT) period that is 3 on 3. If still tied at the end of sudden death OT, a 3 person simultaneous shootout will occur. If still tied, new players will continue the shootout until a winner is declared. The entire team must shoot before repeat shooters are allowed again. 


  1. All players are required to wear mandatory OMHA Equipment, including mouth guards.


  1. Electronic gamesheets will be used, and signed off by the ref and coaching staff of both teams. Teams must check in to receive the ipad at least 20 minutes prior to their game, and return the ipad to the check in.


  1. Game MVPs will be awarded after each game. Coaches will need to check in at the check in to receive the Game MVP puck prior to each game.


  1. All teams will receive swag, depending on availability.

  2.  The schedule is subject to change based on the number of teams entered.
