Bantam Rep Named OMHA Co-Champions
Congratulations to our Bantam Rep Team! You set a goal and you earned your Red Hats!
The Bantam Rep team worked hard all season improving their skills. When the OMHA playdowns started in January they were ready to put West Lorne on the map and make a run for the OMHA Championship.
In the preliminary round they faced their local rivals, the Dresden Jr. Kings and defeated them with 3 straight wins to move on to the quarterfinals vs the Norwich Knighthawks. The team continued their winning streak beating Norwich in 3 straight games to move on to face the Huron-Bruce Blizzard in the semis. This series went back and forth but the Comets ultimately prevailed with a convincing 4-0 win in game 5 to advance to the OMHA Finals versus the Duoro Dukes.
After winning the coin toss (a rarity for our organization!) games 1 and 2 were set to start at home in front of our amazing fans on Saturday March 14th, 2020.
As we all know these final games were never played as Covid-19 forced Hockey Canada and the OMHA to make the difficult decision to suspend the remiander of the season.
OMHA has since crowned the West Lorne Comets and the Duoro Dukes the 2020 OMHA Bantam DD Co-Champions!!!!!
Congratulations to the team and bench staff on an amazing season. We look forward to celebrating this acheivement at a later date.
