OHF Screening Process - *NEW FOR 2024*

It is imperative for all Team Officials to ensure their Vulnerable Sector Check is complete to be eligible to programs on and off the ice.

All individuals volunteering, including coaches, trainers and parents volunteering to help on-ice, must have a completed Vulnerable Sector Screening.  Vulnerable Sector Screenings (Volunteers) can be completed online through the Ontario Provincial Police. 

This includes a valid Vulnerable Sector Check and the OHF Screening Declaration Form.

Before entering the OHF Screening Submission Portal, please ensure you are ready with the necessary documentation. You will need your:

  • Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) Number; AND
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (PDF) AND OHF Screening Declaration Form (PDF); OR
  • Receipt of Vulnerable Sector Check (PDF) AND OHF Screening Declaration Form(PDF);

Please Note:

  1. All documents must be in PDF format to be accepted.
  2. For the 2024-25 season, the OHF will be accepting copies of a Vulnerable Sector Check from 2022-23 or 2023-24 AND OHF Screening Declaration Form (PDF).

How to Complete a Vulnerable Sector Check with the OPP

Steps to Complete the Vulnerable Sector Check with the OPP:

  1. Download the Ontario Hockey Federation letter and fill in your details.  Vulnerable Sector Screenings are free with this letter.
  2. Apply online with the OPP here.  In person visits are no longer permitted. If you live outside of Elgin County you will need to consult your local police detachment.
  3. Completed the process as required by the Ontario Hockey Federation to have your Vulnerable Sector Check reviewed and approved.
