I am Rob Tait and I am the Head Coach for U13 Rep West Lorne Comets for the 2025-2026 season. I am returning in my role as Head Coach of U13 and I expect to have similar success this season.
With tryouts approaching, I would like to touch base on what the season will look like for the 2025/2026 season.
Our team will be rostered as a Tier 1 “B” team in Shamrock Hockey League to begin the season. The Shamrock League will play games with “B” teams in Shamrock, including East Lambton, Lambton Shores, Dresden, South Huron, Petrolia, Lambeth, Wallaceburg, Mooretown, South Kent, St. Thomas, North Middlesex, Lucan, Ilderton etc.). New this season, our team will also see some form of interlock with Alliance teams over the regular season. The interlock with Alliance teams will be at the B level and will be the duration of the regular season. This portion of the structure is still being developed, but I am excited for the opportunity for our players for additional competitive play.
In addition to our competitive play in Shamrock Hockey League, the team will be entering into tournaments through the season. These tournaments are still being determined and will be communicated to the team well in advance of when we hit the ice together as a team.
The tryout process this year does have some differences from previous seasons, but the same expectations are in place. I am still looking for players that want to be a Comet, demonstrating that they are coachable, a good teammate, a tireless work ethic, skill and willing to lay it on the line for their team. I am looking for players that will create the best team to have a successful season and to develop both as players and a team.
